The ground is equally as important if not more important than your power wire. Lay off the volume knob as well since this keeps happening or next time it goes "red" it'll stay that way. Guest Posted January 15, 2010 Report Share Posted January 15, 2010 well im not trying to spend big bucks on a new alty considering this is my first car and wont have it long. i was thinking about a new battery but getting a new battery may require a new alty same with getting a second batidk what amperage my alty is but its stock on a 99 ford taurus se 3.0l i have 2g jl power wire but my amp has small connection terminals so not all of the dookie ass wire is under the screw that have something to do with it? Big3 may be a pretty good ideaonce i get money turn the volume down, get the same sized power and ground wire. dont have the wires frayed (wire sticking out and not in the terminal cleanly), do the big 3, get a deepcycle battery under the hood (powermaster or kinetik) and problem solved.
