SX Amplifiers Gain Setting

Recommended Posts

But if I might add - I was told to set the range as low as you can to maintain the lowest gain setting possible. That will give you the best signal to noise ratio.

Example - It is better to set the range on 2 volt and the gain to 1.0 than to set the range on 4 volt and the gain on 8.0. (I doubt those are the same gain level - just trying to show my point)

BTW - man I love these amps. I have (2) 900.4's and a remote!

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Yeah those 900.4's are beastly, the guy I bought my 1250 from had one he was going to sell me, but I already had the 600.2. The remotes are amazing on these.
