Ao1FTW Posted January 16, 2010 Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 I just got my new amp today (hifonics bxi 1610D) but my amp kit doesnt come till tuesday and I wanna hook this dam thing up so bad!!!! The current power wire I have is 8 gauge..is it ok to hook it up with the 8 gauge power wire for a couple of days until I get the 4 gauge?? enemyofsilence Posted January 16, 2010 Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 i would just wait. its not safe for your equipment and you could mess things up. the amp would pull too much current for the 8 gauge to handle and melt/burn/pop things.
