joni13 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 i was doin some research n cudnt find much but would see what u guys think im getting lvl4 12s probably with lvl5 coils now i need an amp that will do about 3500 at 1 ohms and stable for a burp at a 1/4 ohm and push about 6k or an amp do about 3500 at 2 ohms and a burp again about 6k at 1/2 ohm what u guys think Quote RIP The 03 prix! Tooshort064 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Level 4 w/ lvl 5 coils ? why not just get the XL's and besides a 30 second burp ? coils heat up quick and impediance rise are gonna be a factor after the first 10 seconds w/ lvl 4's . just get the XL's you will be alot happier. and btw you better have damn good electrical to back up that .25 ohm load . fritosaregood Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 an amp rated 3500 one ohm isnt gonna do 6k at .25 usually. efficiency loss usually kicks in below 1 ohm on most amps. and even wiring at .25, depending on your sub and box design, you will have imp rise above 1 ohm. you current demand will go up alot with it wired to .25 so keep a good electrical backup but me.. i have 2 sundown 1500s. at 2 ohms they do 3000 strapped together. alvitae Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 A lot of times my burps don't even last for 1 second. Batterys charged and nothing has been turned on for a day or two I hit it just as quick as I can, Just a split second. Everything after is a waste and no matter what I do it is only going to get quieter. I've yet to get louder as things heat up. Quote
