ccrider540 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 right now i drive a suburban but im finally getting a car and im gunna put my system in it and i wanted to know what way was the best to face the subs in the trunk. i have a friend that faced his sub towards the back seats and i have another that faced his towards the back of the car. I was just curious and wanted to know what way was best because i dont plan on driving with my back seats down all the time if at all. id really like some opinions 1)Alpine CDA-117 1)hifonics brutus bxi 2610 1)hifonics zeus zxi6410 3)Alpine sps-600c 2)Fi BL d1 15s fully loaded

This will minimize group delay (in the trunk, at least).

I say up firing port forward. depends on what your doing though..if your only running like 2 subs then do what Op said.

And like everything in audio it depends. You will just have to try it both ways. I think a lot depends on size of box. I was always told to face them back in a trunk and have the box against the seat. I turned my box around to see what it would do firing forward and it was much louder.

The best way is to build test boxes and flip them around and see which way sounds the best, but you could look on here and see what others have done. What kind of a car is it?? do you want the trunk walled?? do you want the port blowing through the trunk lid?? 2000 2dr blazer 15" diamond audio d3 4 cubic ft. tuned @ 32hz (slot port, sub back, port back) debating on a wall or no wall. coyotechromez Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Sealed box with a high power amp place the back of the box against the seat firing back, Low power amp ported box place 6" from back of trunk facing back!
