I'm pretty sure it's because of the extremely thin side walls compared to other similar batts. Performance wise though I've only heard good things bout them, especially for the price I've seen them go for. Also your buddy is an idiot if he thinks you'll be fine running an AQ 2200D of a Walmart batt and stock electrical other wise. Quote 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride...
