Could i power my amp off a separate battery not connected to my Alternator? How long will it last?

OT... it is a very very very very very bad idea... your voltage will drop within seconds and you can sing "yeah toast" to your amplifier...

Besides the fact that even really good deep cycle batteries are only good for about 500 cycles to ~30% DoD.

If you're using a regular lead acid I would expect it to be completely fucked within 4 or 5 cycles. Not to mention that trickle charging a reasonable sized battery takes about 4 days.
