tweets cutting out??

sounds like a problem with the x-over. In x-overs they use things (like mini light bulbs) to lessen the amount of power going to the tweets. you maybe overloading them. Try finding x-over units (robot underground sells 'em) or just get some cheap caps from radio shack to test. Run your tweets by themselves (no x-over or mid) and see how they run. YOU HAVE TO either cross your amp or add an external x-0ver (like a cap form radioshack) above 3500 hz or you will fry your tweets. If you have no problems then you know it's the supplied x-over and you can replace them.

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer
