Neo_frog Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 So the lowest possible tuning I can get while keeping the Av:Vb ratio between 12 and 16 is 33hZ. That's not low enough for me... After writing a script that helps me with my port sizes, I'm seeing that I'll need to sacrifice Av to get my tuning. I'll be looking at two LVL5 18s in 20.91cu with only 225sq.in. of port area to achieve 30hZ. That's only 10.76sq.in per cu.ft. I'll be giving them each ~4kW to make up for it. I guess my question is, should I really be worried about it? Thanks for the help in advance. I'll be hopefully finishing the wall this weekend. Need an install? Boon Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 That's fiiiiine. Look at Steve, Tommy, and the loud ass Lexus guy... forgot his name. They all run relatively minimal port area... It's funny, the whole '12-16 square inches or port per cube' thing. It works for DDs It works well enough for most high motor force subs. Does it work for a pair of DLS MW112D's? Fuck no. It is not a cover-all rule, nor do you HAVE to abide by it. 10.x volts fo' life!
