unblessedrez Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Ok so I just ordered a kicker zx2500.1 for my solo x 18 that i would be putting into a 06 hummer h3 and was wondering if my stock alt. would be able to handle everything or would I need to upgrade the alternator? I also have a red under the hood and will be putting a yellow top in the back. thanks.
Memphis87 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 the hummer should have at least a 145-160amp alternator....which is not bad for stock but I doubt your current electrical will be able to support your system at idle without some bad drops but doing the "Big 3" is a necessity. Look into getting an upgraded alt. sully Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 DC has some dual alt brackets on sale with or without alternators. I would add a second stock alt or a medium size HO alt to your setup since you have a chevy that the kit is pretty cheap for. I also have a red under the hood and will be putting a yellow top in the back. thanks. you really bought all that and didnt think of the electrical aspect? seriously? get a 300amp alt or the biggest you can get from DC Power 1-888-441-0144 do the big 3 in 0 gauge, get some XS Power D3100 batteries (2) with a yellow top in the front and your set.
