If you are doing a comp, most of the time you will be able to play a sweep and they will tell you at what Hz you where loudest at.

yea, youll do a sweep and theyll look at the screen where it peaked and tell you.

after that i usually start a few hz below wat they say and burp it for 3 seconds on each tone, stepping up one hz at a time

okay it sounds like a tone will be my best bet. Im not sure what frequency to play. I can pretty much tell by ear what sounds loudest though

whats loud to the ear isnt neccessarily loud on the meter

the meter is usually placed on the dash, do u ever put ur head there... No
