Sniper Posted February 5, 2010 Report Share Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) I was rudely awoken at 3:20AM not being able to breathe, I open my blinds and look outside, try to figure what time it was, still really dark out (my body will naturally get me up at 6AM for some reason, lol) and I notice my PA amp which I had left on the previous night had its lights off, and that everything in my room was off, and that my light wouldnt turn on, so im like "fuck, amp blew up", I hop off the bed, feel the amp, slightly warm but not scold-your-hand warm. so I look down the hallway and see this pulsing light coming out of my computer room, and im like WTF, I kick the door open and see a fire behind my Compaq tower (the one I keep all my music on and shat) so I practically shout out FUCK, rip the door open to the hallway closet and grab a towel, pull the computer out of the way, and beat the flame down with a towel to take her out, after waiting a few minutes to make sure the flame was truely dead, I pull the wood-work trim off my wall in the computer room, pull the power cables out of the wall, and flip the breaker and everything turns back on, house was completely filled with smoke. Opened up the windows and doors and cleared all the smoke out. anyway, none of smoke alarms went off, its like Thank god im a light sleeper, cus I'd be a skelly corpse right now featured in the town mourge! might upload some pix of the damage. after checking it out today after I had gone back to sleep and reawoke, I could tell the fire started on a Belkin Surge Protector. so much for saving equipment! damages include my whole damn music system (not like a sound system, I got a compaq in there I store my music on for the house, its linked to my amplifiers in the livingroom, I also use it so I can watch videos in the livingroom) and some cheap-ass sony headphones, got some people coming out from the insurence place but DAMN. Just figured i'd throw this out here, I know im not the most liked member or anything, but its important I tell SMD about this!
