Amps have to be identical and carefully gain matched. Thought you said 4, but yes, it common to strap 2 amps to each coil on a dual coil sub. for 4 amps per woofer. Some have done 8 amps on ea. quad coil sub. But nowadays with 16kw amps, you dont need to.
