Voltage issue

Hey guys kinda having this issue with my voltage, when Im slowing down my lights will dim and then go back to normal, and at times drops to like 12.2-13.5, I have no subs right now, waiting for the new ssd's to come out. My amp is hooked up, but I dont think thats the issue because it has done this plenty of times b4. Im thinking its either my alt or the batt, but I am not 100% sure. I ordered a new alt last week from DC, should I upgrade my batt to? Let me know what you think!

always upgrade your battery but if your alt as a voltage regulator built in it could be your problem

What does your stock battery sit at with the car off?

Does your voltage dip when you turn on A/C, lights, etc??

I never tested my voltage with my car off, but my idle voltage is 14.4 which doesn't sound right to me, and its not always 14.4 to..I can find out what it is though. And yeah when I do turn my lights and rear defrost on its jumps down a lil. When my new alt comes should I just go buy a new batt to?

Its always good to get a new batt but if your gonna stick with a stock batt make sure it doesn't rest at say 11.6V or anything. I think 12.6 - 12.8 is a good rest

my best guess is that when your slowing down you arent giving much rpm's so your lights dim. thats my best guess man, good luck!

True...

Driving your most typically getting better voltage due to engine speed being higher.

But dropping to 12.x volts is kinda low without any kind of draw.

Unhook the amp and see if it drops still
