ATLien Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Hey guys, I am in the process of building my first box and I think I'm gonna need a little help. I'd like to build a ported double-baffle box like Steve did a while back but I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to get it tuned right. Link to Steve's build. My question is: Which calculator would you use to tune the port? I can't find one for this style of box. I'm gonna post some pics of my build so far but I'm warning you...this is a fuckin trainwreck. Looks like a goddamn coffin. LOL For future reference: Subwoofers: (2) 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 Details: * dual 4-ohm voice coils * CONsealer gasket hides mounting screws and prevents air leaks around the frame * frequency response 26-200 Hz * power range 150-500 watts RMS (250 watts per voice coil) * peak power 1,000 watts * sensitivity 88 dB SPL * top mount depth 5-13/16" * sealed box volume 0.8-4.0 cubic feet * ported box volume 1.75-4.0 cubic feet Recommended Ported Box Volume: The ported box volume range recommended by Rockford Fosgate is 1.75 cu/ft to 4.0 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Rockford Fosgate is 2.0 cu/ft, so this is the enclosure recommended by Crutchfield. One 4" diameter x 10-3/4" long port, tuned at 35Hz, should be used with a 2.0 cu/ft enclosure. Amplifier: Boss Chaos Extreme CX950 # Chaos Exxtreme Series 2-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier # RMS Power Rating: * 4 ohms: 300 watts x 2 chan. # Max power output: 1000 watts x 2 chan. # Pulse width modulated (PWM) MOSFET power supply # Wired remote bass level control included # LED power and protection indicators # Tuned Bass EQ (0-18 dB bass boost) # Input voltage sensitivity selector # Bridgeable operation # Speaker-level inputs # Variable gain control # Thermal and short circuit protection circuitry # Soft power-on/off # Anodized aluminum heatsink # Chrome-plated RCA level inputs # Chrome-plated screw terminals # Fixed high-pass filter (200 Hz) # Variable low-pass filter (35-160 Hz) # Frequency response: 9-50000 Hz # Dimensions: 11-7/8"L x 16-13/16"W x 2-5/8"H ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alright guys, Please help a brotha out. This is ridiculous. Quote
