Alright for Fi SSD to get warm?

Sooo my Fi SSD 15" D1 running @ 400RMS (not clipping) the dustcap gets a little warm to the touch after awhile of listening to music (say 30 minst o an hour?) its like warm but not hot and I noticed only the top part of the dustcap heats up and not he bottom which is weird...

I have the coils wired fine and its a new subwoofer so none of them should be blown lol... I heard that dustcap/sub heatup is normal as long as its not too hot (just warm like mine) if I turn the gain down a bit it cools right off , so im assuming im clipping the subwoofer, but has ANYONE had a dustcap get warm on them before? and if so how bad is it?

all subs get warm/ hot just make sure they're not clipping.. i know you said they're not, but only the oscope can tell you if it's clipped or not, but you should be good on 400 watts

ok haha... yeah I MAY be clipping, but I cant tell and like you said without an oscope there is no way to be sure... The coils arent charred ,no smells and the readout on my coils are 1.0 (perfect) im just concerned about heat on the dustcap :-p Ive heard from many it's fine, I just want to make sure...

Also why doesnt the cap get hot when my gains are turned down? does that mean less power so obviously less heatup? you'd think @ 400RMS the Fi wouldnt get warm at all lol

yeah bro you are fine with it heatn up.. its like if you got out of bed and ran for 30 minutes im sure you would get hot and sweaty right?(no homo)

haha yeah but im not a machine :-p but nah if its all good then I guess I have nothing to worry about I thought my coils were gonna explode through the cone or somethinglol
