Can somebody help me find out how many amps my alt is?

The alt doesn't say it anywhere on it. The truck is a 1997 Chevy Cheyenne 4.3L V6. if you need more info let me know. I have tried Google but haven't found anything.

I wen tto Oreilys website and punched in your info.

It shows three different ones but a 105 amp is the most common.

SO I would think prolly around 105amps.

Almost all GMs for the past 20 years have had 105 amp alts

about 100-110 amps depenind on the company

or on the oem is about 100

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

should be some codes in your glovebox that will tell you

any gm 4.3 is a cs 130 style case so about 40 amps at idle 105 at around 2000 rpm, like everyone else said. but, good trick to know. the 6.0 is 140 at idle and 200 at 2000 rpm with the same bolt locations and wire harness :)

Check your glove box for these codes. I'm only listing the GM RPO's for alternators 100 amp or higher here.

8A7, KG8 - 130 amp

8A3, KW2 - 124 amp

8A5, 8C0, K98, KG9 - 140 amp

8C6, KG3 - 145 amp

8C7, KG4, KG5 - 150 amp

8W5, 8X5, K61, K62, K65 - 105 amp

8Z3, 8Z4, K60 - 100 amp

K09 - 120 amp

K63 - 110 amp

KG7 - 125 amp

KW1 - 160 amp

KW3 - 135 amp

KW7 - 170 amp

KW9 - 190 amp

KYU - 200 amp (
