davewms9605
Hey man idk how much help this is. But looking at the product online it looks like you remove the old horn switch and wire this kit in. Its obviously some kinda switch either connecting + or - Well, i took off the old steering wheel and there is a black wire with a white plastic sleeve thats spring loaded that hooks to the old horn button. I installed the Grant 3196 install kit, the rubber boot and extended the wire to make it reach new horn button. The kit comes with some type of retainer ring that "suppose" to go inline with the install but it doesnt mount to anything. It just dangles inside the boot. From there I put on the wheel then the front cover. I push the button and nothing! But if U touch the end of the wire to anything metal inside the column the horn blows, but once u hook up the wire, nothing. This does the same thing in any car or different wheels! Its like all their instructions are bogus or something... baaudio
I've got an old 1992 c/k. Never put a wheel on it but I've had the horn off the wheel. It has to contact the metal in the wheel I think. Unfortunately truck isn't here now. But that's weird how their instructions don't tell much. Have you tried just rigging something up? It sounds like the horn button is supposed to contact bare metal to blow the horn.
