matt402
How do you determine what the sealed and ported sides of a 4th order bandpass box? Also how do you know what tuning of the ported box should be ? idk?... just try to keep the ratio 2:1 or 3:1, ported tuning is always higher than a regular ported box (50-80hz?). ill let every1 know how mine turns out . dwright27
i got 2 18s in a 4th order i however didnt do the design but i have 4 cubes or so on the sealed side and around 17 on the ported side. thats over a 4-1 ratio though which is a little big. try 4 cubes sealed with 12 ported and see how that goes. as far as how to tune it, i have no clue as i dont design bandpasses. maybe its just like designing a ported box?? maybe someone will chime i here Edited March 11, 2010 by dwright27 Quote 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. zfrerichs
this is in general 1.75-1.9 cubes sealed per woofer 3:1 ratio 5.25-5.7 per woofer ported side 16-22 ippc tuned to your cutoff point 50-65hz in most cases but you should really do your own testing bp boxes arent a one and done deal you have to keep making small changes to them in order for them to work right Quote Roseville, CA
Basshead08
Yea I'm thinking about building big The first time so that I can just add 2x4's etc. to step down in size until I get it where I like it. Does that sound good? zfrerichs
yeah you can do that but its gonna be hard to change things around without a termlab but if you have access to one that will be key in fine tuning the box Quote Roseville, CA
