My 4 new ports arrived today. Exciting. See if I can break the magical 155 mark

Subwoofers removed today to make room for rear window removal. 4) 6" ports will now replace the singular 8" port. I am starting a new A pillar build that will hopefully house a line array of tweeters, which I heard on a fellow smd'r who has a ss van with 3 18" subs. I liked the way it sounded So Im straight stealing that idea. But thats only if I cant shoe horn 3) 5" drivers in each A pillar, I know that will be hard as fuck. Hopefully it can be done without losing any real visability, If so Ill make kick panels and put the tweeter array.

Ports will be started today. Hopefully finished by the end of the weekend as well an additional group 31 and 4 additional runs of 1/0.

The first all out run I did with the system was on the side of highway 10 in balmorhea texas. Bfe.

ok back window is out and im having a hard time getting motivated. I am excited about a concept having to do with the 4 new ports I am putting in. I recently built a bandpass that had 8 total 4" ports. it was an 8th order bandpass. so there were a total of 4 input ports 4 output ports and 4 ports between the two sections. think six order with ports connecting the chambers internally. I had my term lab and wanted to run a test. i put on a constant tone from my sine generator and moved the meter from port to port. All ports were the same length. they were in a straight line. some ports were closer to the outside corners than others. The readings from the ports were different. Some ports had up to 4db more output on the meter than the lowest metered port in the group of four. Led me to think port placement in a box can have a profound effect even with a slight change in position. That being said. when I have to meter my box after the 4 ports are installed I will test the ports for output and see which one or pair have the most output. Then block the other ports with plugs and see if Simply having a port 8" away from another can directly lead to an honest change in output. I know people put ports on the far driver side to gain output on the meter. But call me silly. I think that might not be the case with my car do to all the freaking curves.

by adding the extra port area my tuning is going to be raised from 19hz to about 30hz. if my peak output goes up to 155 then im happy. if it does so at 40hz that will make me sad. I hate the punchy 40hz tone. No offense punchy 40hz guys. If all else fails I can always plug a port or two when competing in psychlone and unplug when doing bassboxing or anyother format that doesnt reward for low freq output. In a perfect world my 27hz will bump to a 154 and my 20hz will break the 150 mark.
