Cashdollar2009
you cant hear a difference when the clip light comes on cept for that my interior lights dim. it doesnt sound like poo to me but maybe a real audio critic would would think it would but it sounds by far by the best sounding set up ive had. Oh i believe it is the best sounding setup you've have, Audioque and Fi ain't no joke! But, as a somewhat reliable, not necessarily ideal method though, the warning light on the bass knob is there for a reason. If you feel that you need to get the knob turned up high enough to make it loud, regardless of the clip indicator yelling at you, what you REALLY need is a bigger amp. And when you say the clip light it just red, i was going off of the crunch/hifonics/maxxasonics bass knobs i have personally used in the past. I have never personally used an audioque product, but i am sure the clipping indicator doesn't lie. alvitae
Sounding like poo is only one reason clipping is bad, Overheating is another. The way I understand it is a good sine wave looks like rolling waves. A clipped signal is flat at the tops and bottom og the waves. In subs for example the cooling comes from the movement of the sub. Since your subs aer a mirror of your signal they are staying out and in a fraction of a second longer thus overheating. As far as amps go it gets them hot as well, but I don't know exactly how. If I'm wrong someone like James or sometone can call me names and set us straight

chewie
that clip light should barely flicker on when your at full tilt.. also when you start clippin your voltage gets hit bigtime. if your back there listening to the sub you should be able to hear it start to distort the more you turn the bass knob up.. when its in full red you will hear alot of distortion.. turn your gain down until that clip light goes away..
