Ill be running the SxX 15s with A LOT more power then they rate em! it says 2000 watts for box together. So my amp is rated at 1500 watts at 1 ohm. but is clamped at 1920

hwe13161 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 the sxx will accept whar you give it, however, a cheap amp will send clip signals to the woofer when the amp reaches its output limit. the clip signal is pure noise which translates to heat, the heat that kills woofers. now, a good amp, even a 500m amp will give a clean signal to the woofer. the clean signal is just that, clean wattage therefore, your woofer will just respond to what it gets. less amps, less output more amps, more output. you will not blow a woofer running good quality power less than the recommended wattage. the sxx 10 is on my fosgate 250m for 2 ohms @ 500watts. it is incredible. of course, the woofer smelled initially, that was the new break in phase. all new speakers have the break in smell. hope this clears things up.
