You aint wrong! lol Aluminum coils are geared more for comps, because they can take such a high wattage burp. But it doesn't mean they can't be pounded daily also..

that makes me feel really good cause i would like to compete in the future but as of right now my setup is completely daily

I currently have a hifonics brz2400.1D (just came out) and i want to run at least 2 18's and i want to run each sub off one amp and ive thought about putting an amp to each voice coil but dont know if they could handle almost 5000 watts rms a think id be ok with just 2400 on each 18

go with the copper coils and 1 amp per sub. Coppers are more efficient and will get louder off less power. I've done a lot of testing with copper and alum AQ's.

Run a AQ3500 on each sub for daily and wire down to .25ohm for burps. Coppers didn't do so well at .25ohm, but alum coils took it like a champ.

Base your decision off the power you plan to run to the subs for daily and if you plan to compete.

You're not completely wrong. Aluminum is designed more for competition because of the lighter metal. However it's easy to shred them. Coppers are stronger, but take a little longer to cool down than aluminum. I would go with copper for daily use and aluminum for comps only. Aluminum is more expensive, and you will be reconing a lot more often. It's difficult to say which is "better". Neither is really "better" just better suited for certain uses.
