Reallunacy Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 I bought a DataSafe HR500 battery that I plan on using for my system.My problem is that it comes with 1/4-32 bolts instead of battery posts. I would like to use posts but can't find any with that fine of a thread. My question is if anyone knows of any that I missed or if it would be possible to saw off the bolt from some posts I bought then drill a hole through top of the post so that I could bolt the post into the battery. The reason for this work is that I had bought some nice terminals that I would rather like to use. Here is a pic of the bolt that came with the battery and the post I am going to alter If I can't find some that will work for me as is.
baaudio Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 You could try drilling through the battery posts and using longer 1/4-32 bolts. You may want to thread some of the post to keep it from moving unless you get it tight enough that it won't twist. This would be kinda last resort for me personally. But possibly an option. Good luck man Maybe some side post adapters would work. Kinetik makes some.
