cvxsmitty58 Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Does it matter if when wiring a dvc sub you jump the coils (as in positive to positive on the sub) vs running each coil to the amp. Btw im wiring a d2 btl down to 1 on an aq2200d. I've seen both done and i can do either, i was just wondering which is better.
Guest Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 personal choice, it doesnt matter. the amp bridges the sub in parallel for you if you wire each coil to the amp instead of bridging the coils on the woofer itself.

kmalinich Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 I say run both coils to the AQ. 2x the power handling for the wire. so you'd have 4 8ga wires coming off of the sub.. to the amp.. waaay overkill, but there's nothing wrong with being safe. oh and good choice on the amplifier and sub combo was gonna do it myself but with 2 12" BLs but I came along something.. different.
