brentlarsen Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 wats up everyone im new here. the names brent. im going to be putting a fi ssd 12 in my truck runnin off a hifonics bxi 1610d on a 1 0hm load...and im not sure which way i should go for the enclosure..its going to be POUNDED daily...and i want it to sound good...i want it to have a wider bandwith because i listen to rock but mainly rap/ hip hop so i want it to have a low aggressive rumble but i also want the thump...idk if i should go sealed...or ported...like i said i want to to POUND but sound good doing it...anyone have any suggestions??

brentlarsen Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 well im ordering the sub and amp HOPEFULLY within the next week..maybe 2 weeks. but it will be a while be4 i put it in. but i want to build the box now because i have this other old 12 in my truck now and i want to see wat it sounds like. i just dont kno how i should build the box lol

You can negotiate it with a ported one, but you run the risk of losing what you are looking for if it's designed wrong or the acoustics of the cab/trunk work against you. brentlarsen Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 see i had two jl 12 w 1's in there be4 both in sealed boxes...granite they were too big but i LOVED the sound they produced....it just was not loud enough. and ive never really gotten to hear a good built ported box so idk if a ported box could produce both the tightness and the loudness
