az73 Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 so going for a ripple trick in the boat saturday. done everything i know to the best of my ability.even downloaded some "Decaf".reread how to set gains again and think i understand it. so go across town to hanger, to boat and do all my step and its a t1000-1bd that tested out @1390 watts. the gain is at 7 of 11 and volume was at 40 of 60. sub knob maxed as to set for highest and never go passed it. 66.7x66.7=4448.89 divided by 2ohms =2224 watts where did i f up sony m60ui polk mid/hi's infinity 6000m on tower fosgate p3d212 x2 fosgate p400-4 fosgate t1000-1bd im ona boat bitch My boat build funny thing is...............slamming fireworks in to the ground with a sledge hammer in mexico is like car audio in california... everyone is doing it but most fail Every time I read a comment you post, or a topic you make... P4killer_ Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 It's wattage times ohms. Sqrt of that equals ac voltage So (1390*1ohm) = 1390 √1390= 37.28 is what your dmm should read. Also I have the same dmm make sure the ac/dc button in the upper left is pushed in iirc for ac because. It reads all crazy if not at least on my dmm (same one you have) I just set my gains with that dmm they same way like 2. Days ago Edit my phone puts Emma instead of dmm. P4killer_ Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 You take your wattage multiply that by your ohms. Take the square root of the number you get from above That's what the dmm needs to read. Make sure all loud is off equilizer is flat aka all at 0. So for instance your amp does 1390 at one ohm. So 1390 x 1 is 1390. The sqrt of 1390 is 37.28... So if your setting your amp at one ohm to do 1390w that's what you do. But if your at 2 ohm that's changes things and you have to redo the math.
