Limit101 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Since my car rattles a lot and it distorts the bass I was wondering if getting a sealed enclosure would make it rattle less. Also how much quieter is a sealed enclosure compared to a ported one. Also how much clearer is the bass in a sealed vs ported enclosure.

Limit101 Posted April 3, 2010 Author Report Posted April 3, 2010 yea i have tried facing it the other way and it sounded like worse meaning i heard even less bass. Well so if i got a ported enclosure would it reduce rattling and all that since their would not be air flying out of the enclosure?

raytard Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 the bass isnt any clearer, i cant see mine at all and i cant imagine a sealed box would be clearer than that. it might be significantly quieter, it might be slightly quieter. a ported box can actually be quieter than sealed if its designed badly, or it can give you like 15db of gain. there is no definite answer besides "probably a bit quieter" also, you wont rattle less. guaranteed. if your shit sounds like a soda can full of pennies falling down an escalator, it always will. take out your pennies and cover in deadening and enjoy the bass.
