Destram
you can mix them, just need to swap some wires around No, I'm saying I wouldn't do it personally. I would rather them all be inverted or all normal. 2006 BMW 325i My feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/77301-official-destram-feedback/

bassl0va
Can you invert subs with a head unit that does not have the setting to do so? yep, like I said, just gotta switch some wires on the subs around. the H/U he has just switches the phase of the signal before the amp, meaning you don't have to rewire your subs My RE MT 18" wall build Former build, farewell beloved wall.In progress, Toyota Starlet build This forum has a massive boner for ridiculous electrical upgrades. Destram
Does inverting them raise or lower the tuning of the box? 2006 BMW 325i My feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/77301-official-destram-feedback/
raytard
technichally it lowers it, but its not going to be a whole lot. maybe with 4 15's you'll drop tuning 3-5hz. there is no sq difference (unless you have a woofer with a lot of mechanical noise) and output stays basically the same (maybe a tenth or so, in theory there shouldnt be any difference since the radiating area stays the same, but whatever) Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
ATLien
Thanks for the info. I'm going to give this a try in the next few days and see if I like it. Just to clear things up: I have (2) 12s and all I need to do, since I don't have the setting on my HU, is reverse the negative and positive? Coolwazabi
not sure if its been answered.. but on some amps they have a phase switch.. it should say 0 degrees or 180 degrees.
ATLien
Hmmm...I don't think my amp has that option. It's pretty crappy.
Coolwazabi
Hmmm...I don't think my amp has that option. It's pretty crappy. i assume its a 1 channel ?? in that case just switch the wiring from + to - and - to +... although you could just play it as is..... but.... wouldnt
ATLien
It's a 2-channel amp but I have them bridged like this: Sounds like all I really need to do is switch the + and - right at the amp.
