Recommended Posts

how do you wire an Equalizer?...

im kind of confused...i have a kenwood headunit

with sub, front, and rear outputs...and have running 2 amps..

RF T30001bd for sub and a alpine 4 channel for the mids and highs..

i have my 4channel front and rear wired to the front and rear outputs out of my hu

and my sub amp to the sub pre out...

am i gonna have to remove all the rcas from my hu and wired them to the EQ?..

and which RCA's do i wire up to the EQ since it says input - and the rest sub output, rear and etc..

anyone?..let me know if i didnt make sense guys..

if im not mistaken, you take the sub out on your deck, and wire it to the input on the equalizer, then your high's amp goes to the front on the eq, and your sub amp goes to the sub on the eq.

under construction

most eq's have one input and 3 outputs. so you make your deck feed full range out (and lose sub control from there, as well as xovers. basically every tuning thing on the deck zero out and leave alone, the eq is in control now.)

run the front output from the deck to the input on the eq.

run the wires that go to the amps to the appropriate places on the eq.

thats it...

monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now)
