jojo42 Posted April 9, 2010 Report Share Posted April 9, 2010 I've had DWI plates on my car for 6 years now cuz its in my dads name and he pyhsically CANNOT get his lisence back (cancer) and I CAN'T transfer the title unless he gets it back. DWI - Driving While Intoxicated It's a different style plate to signify that this person has been pulled over for a DWI before. Only reason the plates got stuck on the car is cuz when I bought it I put it in his name for cheaper insurance, then came the onslaught of DWI's against my vehicle. Get a lawyer and doctors statement. And legally they shouldnt be able to stop you from transfering the title. Get that doctors statement and take it to the dmv.
