I've had my old power wire ran under like that for over a year now with no problems. No drilling through the firewall and stuffing it under carpet ftw. It is wayyyy better are night, the stinger puts out a majority of the light not the number itself I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. I still may have to cover it though, I like to drive with it as dark as can be. The light on the Sundown gain know was too much for me, so I taped over it lol.
