I read some about this but still don't quite understand what this feature is for. The only damn gain I don't know, would someone please help me understand this? Any and all help appreciated.

you use it when u invert the sub, or have the magnet outside of the box

this way u can hook the sub up regularly and switch the phase to 180 so the sub goes in when its suppose to and out when its suppose to

when u put a magnet on the outside it switches that...

Damn, nice to know that, i used subs in the past inverted and i had to wire them inverted too, i didn´t know i could just get the phase to 180º and that´s it!!

wouldnt that be a switch then? what about the 1-179 degrees? i hear its for changing where the sound of the woofer is "coming from". like instead of having it sound like its coming from behind you, it sounds like its right next to you.

some amps it is just a switch

if you have time alignment and use it on the sub, that will change the phase somewhere between 0 and 180...

but phase shifting is not something ur ear can detect easily until uve reached 180degree shift, then u should notice a delay in the beat or it being early depending on the car
