With a 250 amp alt and 2-4000 watt amps with 16 volt batteries your voltage is going to drop to around 14v or so.

I run those SS 4000d amps. Love them and work real nice on 12volt. Make sure charge voltage does not go above 18v or the amps will shutdown. I didn't know that until I got mine installed. Hell, SoundStream didn't know it until I got mine installed.

I charged my 16volt system at 17.9, seemed to work out great. Iraggi probably knows a few little tricks to get the best out of the electrical though.

16v to the SS's is tossed into the trash. There was far too much confusion on the topic (mainly on my part) and since I've never done it and just doing my first real build in 12 years (give or take) I decided to stick with what I know.

2 300 amp alts and 3 XS 3400's in route with plenty of room for more batts later (when/if I come up with the scratch for 2 more XXX's) :drinks:
