remi_357 Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 2 kicker cvr 15s. I built a sealed box and I'm not happy with it. The box is built 100% as big as I could get it it is 5.35 cubes total. I'm thinking about doing a single slot port in the same box. Kicker recommends a min.3 cubes pet sub ported. This is not possible. Would porting this box be a waste of time?
teamace24 Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 I bet if you would of put this question in the kicker forum, you would of got a much quicker answer but i can help as this was one of my first setups, two cvr 15. Although, the cvr 15 do sound ok with a sealed box, the fifteens need a huge sealed box like 3 cubes each to sound loud and decent. I had them in a slightly smaller box like the one you built, and i was drowning them, nasty sound. The only thing i would advise you since you do not have the room to properly port them, is to downgrade to two twelves and make a 4-4.5 ported box for them and they will sound cleaner and most likely louder than the cvr 15.
