iceman88
Thanks for ur time mate, ive just started out in this car audio so i dnt no my stuff + im only young Im not sure what you mean by displacement ?? i brought boxes from sum1 who said it was an spl set up in his car but they got no port length so i want to add a port length for better sound ??? Tell me what info you need and ill tell you my friend i'll try explain, displacment is when you put ur sub in the box, how much air space is left, basically the dimentions of your sub. You could get this info by finding the specs of your subs online, and that would help..

ChevyBoy
well first of all, each box for 4 is only 6.75 cubes. thats a little more than 1.5 to each 15 correct? thats no where near enough for a 15, ESPECIALLY ported.
8x15inagolf
What do you reckon then ??? I dnt want to build new boxes cos ive got these, can i mod them a little in sum way,My car is small but im going to do it sum how,Please dnt turn me off the whole car audio thing : ( What would air space be like if like i said inverted the 2 at the front on each box Edited July 4, 2007 by 8x15inagolf
sean 371
Haha I don't want to "turn you off" but there is no way youll fit 8 15's in a gold without maddddd fiberglass work. I'd drop it down to 4 15's and build a wall for them. Walls are very badass, and I would love to build one if I had the cash for more amps and subs. 8x15inagolf
the boxes are already built + fit nicely with space Would like to hear what sum of other people think plz !!! Edited July 4, 2007 by 8x15inagolf
sean 371
lol... you wont find anyone who thinks that 1.5 cubic foot is good for a 15. I don't care how nicely they fit in the car, if the subs don't work in the box youre screwed anyway. What you can do is make the boxes sealed, and not use a port at all. You'd get extra displacement back, and 8 15's in a golf, even sealed, would be very loud. Just make sure you seal the boxes off from the back of the car.
