I bought this subs more than a year ago, i tested 5 different boxes dimensions and directions (first 2009 swift looking for ground pounding on the world with the back seat on hehe) until i got the final one, i´m using 1.45 c/f per sub and 17 SQ of port per cubic feet tune to 41 hz, i tuned also to 37 hz one time and 48 hz for scoring. This subs took first a Powerbass 1500.1 hitting 143 dbs on the TL without even getting warm, next i bought an Hifonics 2608D and got to 146 dbs on a daily box without even getting warm, my impedance was a little up of course, so i said FUCK IT! Bought a Cadence C6 (6000 watts) with a impedance to 3.8 ohms, the subs got for almost the year 2800 rms CLAMPED WATTS, meaning, 930 watts each sub and they are 500 watts a piece :o and those little beasts warmed up after 2 or 3 minutes at full volume!!!

They pound harder than any 500 watts i have ever seen, i burped 148 dbs with my daily box and bass raced 146.7 dbs without any problems, i also built a SPL burp box and hit 150.1 dbs @ 55 hz but my amp broke down and stopped testing, besides that, i bought an explorer so the swift is now with a 2500D hifonics and this 3 subs, still does hair tricks and still hit 146 dbs on the TL!!

I started this thread because i saw some posts asking about this subs, now you have your answer, does they worth the money?? every penny!! The pound hard, they hit the lows very strong and funny thing is that, with a 41 hz tuning i could still burp at 143.5 dbs @ 30 hz without bottoming out, they handle tons of power just great and have a GREAT SQ.

Pros:

everything!!!!!

Cons:

Doesn´t sound too well above 55 hz even with a high tuning.

if your are looking for numbers this is not the best sub unless you try a lot of things as i did.

Doesn´t sound too well on small boxes

i had two DD1508's doing a 147.7dB with clamped 1725 watts in a 4door honda accord. sealed on the dash. termlab. and there are quite a few people on this forum that can attest to it. :)

they are now loaded into my girlfriend's 2001 Civic 2door coupe. :) numbers after the show this sunday. (i know but i'm not telling) hehe

i also have a guy with a single DD1508 on a single JLaudio 500/1 doing a 143 on the dash and a 140 at the headrest in a Malibu 4 door trunk car! its insane.
