alot of audiobahns products (like 99% of them) are built extremely terribly (why do you think they're out of business?) and dont do anything near what theyre rated as far as amps. and ive heard from people saying that their bahn's blew on clean UNDER RATED POWER. also they had that scandal where they covered their woofer's magnets with that chrome shielding to make the user think the magnet was as big as the chrome shielding, but when you cut the chrome off, the magnet took up like 40-50% of the space.

Interesting. What do you guys recommend for these 2 subs? Like I said, I expected this system to be an upgrade from my Best Buy Type R's but so far it's hitting maybe half as hard.

I agree Audiobahn is crap, but we still aren't sure you are running everything correct. Do you have your subs wired like so?

Have you followed the link to setting your gain with a dmm? I mean another amp would be best, but I'd figure out how to set everything right before buy a better amp and blowing the f out of something.

No, my subs are not wired like that actually. I had a guy hook them up and he did something where he connected both sides together with a wire. I don't know 100% what he did. He's the audio guy, not me. Are you recommending I re-wire it like this?

some "audio guys" (not saying yours isnt, just a general problem within the community of installers) is that they sometimes wire the woofers in series, which effectively INCREASES resistance (for 2 dual 4 ohm woofers it would be something like 16 ohms or something if he series'd the woofers).

I would have to pull the woofer out of the box to tell you the model. Got them off a friend used so I don't have the original boxes. All I know is they're duel 4 ohm 8500's.

I would recommend wiring them like the diagram. You may notice a huge improvement. Then read thru and set your gain right. Once you rewire the subs right your gain setting will need to be changed.

i got this same amp but the older version and i love the hell out of it, plenty of power and then some, i got mine for $289 on sale but that one should be alot better too, and well worth the money imo

i got mtx 8000 15 single 4ohm x2 and there 500rms each and my amp pushes em real good, and doesnt even get warm on loud listening either

i kno u can get audio q this and that amps for cheaper but i think this setup was ment to work together cause thats how my buddy that sold memphis and mtx always did his setups, either mtx subs and memphis amp, or memphis subs and mtx amp

hope this helps bro, and those mtx 8500's can handle some power, my buddy did 4 of the 15 single 4ohm subs inverted in a fiberglass tub in the spare tire well in a toyota camery i think 93 or somethin and that shit wanged like all hell on 2 mtx 1501d's that do about 2000rms @ 2ohm on 14.4v so u got some damn good subs imo, i love mtx subs, ive ran pritty much every one they've made ecept real old and the new new's, i like to keep it oldschool lol

damn man they cost to much, i looked at that one site and almost $700 for a 15 is stupid, the 9500's local aint that damn much, they got it marked up to high

i gave like $180 for my old mtx 4500 1544's and i traided em for 2 mtx 5500 1544's and $50 cash and still have em, n i got my mtx 8000's for the low and im gunna keep it at that lol

Well, I just wired them the way the diagram says (Yes I made sure I did it right) and i'm getting no sound. When I turned it up I could feel a little thump on them but i'm pretty sure it was just my regular speakers sending a vibration through them. Put my ear up to the port and got nothing ....
