jpac Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 hey, on my m30 the lights will dim and the amp shuts off. Its sporatic... Sometimes itll shut off instantly, while sometime it will last a long time. That leads me to think its a battery drain problem. Ive had both the alternator and the battery tested and they both check out. Thats not under load tho... so idk. I started to do the big 3 yesterday but I cant get the the positive wire on my alternator without removing the whole ALTERNATOR(sorry, haha), so ima hold off on that for a while, Ill still do the 2 grounds tho. Im sure this has been asked several times already.. my setup: boss 800watt amp(yes, i know its cheap... but hey, it was free from my parents) two kenwood kfc-w3012 subs

SHIT!!! sorry... im tired haha.. i meant alternator, which is on the bottom of the engine.. anyways, theres only a 40 amp draw... and the guy at the battery place said it was doin 60 or something. your drawing in too much current. check your grounds, upgade wiring and you might have to upgrade your battery/alternator im running 8g wire... for what its worth, the amp never when into protection mode when i had this in my truck
