opptima yellow tops 35% off

when i was at a local auto parts store one of the guys that works there says we have yellow tops for 35% off. i dont really care but just to be nice i says oh and why is that. the guy says because they have been on the shelf for over a year but that they are still good as new. i keep thinking about these batteries siting four so long without being charged and wondering how many dead cells they have. i know when i buy batteries i allways check the manufacturing date. so whats the chances of these yellow tops being good?

actually pretty good. I had a surplus of them that sat for about that long that I got charged back up and they float at 12.9 after being off the charger. One thing is just what is their 35% come out to? You can get them dirt cheap at remybattery.com usually. (haven't looked in a while)

Optima has directions on their site for recharging a battery that is deepcycled.

I do not know what the life of them is going to be once I start beating the hell out of them though just an fyi. I havent got everything in yet.

i did not ask the price but it will be interesting to see what happens with the older ones.
