I was just curious how you figure out what the largest size tire & rim combo you can put on a vehicle is. Was also wondering how do you measure tire size for the rims you choose to put on the vehicle while keeping within the correct max measurement. I know there are different offsets as well (which I'm still not 100% clear on), but is there a limit to the offset as well?

lol, yeah i've seen some gross rims tucked really tight b4 (to the point there was no wheel well under the hood & custom size in the bed/back.

my friend at work was looking into buying some rims for an impala & neither of us knows much about how big he can go while keeping things stock. so i was wondering how do u measure to tell what's going to rub when you turn or about different tire sizes for the rims u choose. i did find a link to what all the numbers mean & such (Link) but nothing about how to measure what will fit in the allowed space.

Easiest way with no modification is to measure your stock tires, then off of that find the biggest rim that fits a tire of the same outer diameter. I know I've seen newer Impalas with 20s and 22s. The 20s looked to fit without much body or suspension modification if any at all
