white4d96 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Took my amp out to lay some deadener in the trunk, left it in the garage overnight on its MDF rack. Put it back in today and when I hooked it up, it would send a DC *pop* through the amp everytime the gain was turned, and wouldn't respond to any RCA signals. Did this with RCA's in and out. Any ideas what could be messed up? Couldn't find anything burnt in the board... Too many projects, too little time...

white4d96 Posted May 17, 2010 Author Report Posted May 17, 2010 I don't know, the amp is almost 10 years old...honestly doubt anyone will be able to fix it. Probably shoulda listened to what dB-R told me a year ago and got a different amp instead... Too many projects, too little time...
Boon Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Sounds like either an output device has failed and is letting rail voltage through to the outputs OR the board has shifted and something is shorting out inside. 10.x volts fo' life!

If the board had shifted, could there be a chance that it would work again if I re-positioned the board? Or is it pretty much fuxored? I did a little more testing and when the gain is turned up I get +DC, gain turns down I get -DC. Let it sit and it settles back down (From what I can tell hooked to a driver.) Too many projects, too little time...
