Adding on to my corolla, CHEAP setup.

So I'm stuck with my car for awhile, it's a 1994 toyota corolla. I want it to at least sound some what decent. I'm a college student so my money is tight.

So far I have a Clarion dzx275mp head unit and replaced all 4 factory speakers with clarion pieces. I've had this for about a year. I have zero bass and the speakers def need an amp.

I was thinking this:

I'd get the kenwood 4 channel and hook it up to the speakers.

And then get this 8 inch sub. It's a tiny car so this will be enough bass for me. Has a box and built in amp so this saves me a headache.

As for sound deadening. I can't afford dynomat, Ive heard of people using home insulation from home depot but apparently it smells in the heat so I was considering only doing it to the trunk.

What do you guys think?

I think for $120 you'd be much happier with a Sundown SA-8 I'd run that with the amp instead of the mids and highs but thats just my .02

I think sound deading is a bit of overkill for an 8in sub. I would not use fiberglass insulation in a car!! Just cant see that being a good idea. Some people have found a roll of some sound deading material cheap at lowes or home depot.

What's your budget? I'm sure you could easily fit a 12" sub in that trunk.

I would get an amp for the highs and save to get a 8" sub in a good box on a seperate amp. Take a look here: http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/8subwoofers.aspx I think the Diamond Audio D308 with the Diamond Audio D3 400.2 would be a good budget 8" setup; you might even be able to find the 300.2 and save some moey

its called peel & seal found in the roofing section and yes it does work to a point but in the long run Second Skin is a far better choice and its still cheaper the dynamat

He could always look into a 5 channel amp! or get a 4 channel put the front speakers on it and bridge the other 2 channels for a lil sub. just run the rear speakers off the deck. Heck if he didn't care about fade he could wire both sets of speakers off the 2 channels at a 2ohm load and bridge the other 2 channels. Just trying to get you the most for you buck! lol

What's your budget? I'm sure you could easily fit a 12" sub in that trunk.

My budget is as low as I can go, but I don't wanna break 500. I mean I just want some bass. I have almost none right now.

I checked out that sub. I still feel I might stick with the one I have above be for 120, it's in a box, comes with an amp built in and crutch field throws in a wiring kit.

I'm even debating just getting that and forgetting about the amp for the speakers, or at least for awhile. I think I'll buy some sound deadening from lows or even just some entry level b-quiet or second skin just for the trunk if it's even needed.

I don't rly want a 12, heck I'm not even sure about a 10. In the future I want an awesome planned out setup but not with this car.

I'm still new to all this, can you explain to me exactly what "fade" is.

I'd wanna run a 5 channel one day but not with this setup/car. I originally just wanted a CD player but got the speakers as a gift so I'm building off the budget setup I have.

I don't think I'm gonna get an amp for the speakers now, just the sub/amp pkg. All I have to do is wire it up.

Is there anything else I would need? As in any other wiring or a new battery? I don't want my car shutting off on me. I usually listen only when driving and with me and a few friend with the windows up, I don't open everything up and bump it so I'm not looking for loudness.

Thats nice deal but it's 90$, I'd still need an amp, box and wiring.

For 30$ more I can get the one I posted and have all that. Plus idk how to build a good box.
