blackrosetiger Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 OK so I've been messing around with Sketch Up for a new setup in a 98 Plymouth Voyager I bought Friday. I plan on using 6 10's. The box would be 48" wide 36" Deep and 24" High ( This is just a general idea as I have yet to measure my space I'll have with the 3rd row seats removed) According to the box tuning calculator with 6 6" aero ports @ 9.75" long it'll give me 20.89ft3 gross volume with 1ft3 of port volume with a tuning of 33.59Hz. My Question is this will it hurt to put 3 ports forward and 3 ports back or should I stick to having the ports all on the same side? No I haven't decided on what Subs I will be using so I don't know the sub displacement (which I know will change the tuning) The Box 1998 Plymouth Voyager (daily) Jensen VM9213 H.U. Just my .02 lower tuning is just hard. tacomabanga1986 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 why not try and do a box like bill did in his expedition? and could prolly have more room if u did 4 8'' pipes, but i think a flange will work with a 6'' tho and u could bondo and mold it into box and no one would kno u was useing a shitter holder to keep ur pipe in place lol but ya all ports on one side, i heard a explorer with 4 cerwinvega vmaxx 15's in a box with subs up and some ports fireing up and it sounded pritty good, and was pritty loud to, but then again it was 4 15's so that helps a lil bit ied try to do all ports on one side or one big L port like bill did in his box i wanna try a ported box with pvc pipe but i unno how to figure out what size pipe i need and @ a giving lingth to what tuning i will end up with i might make one for my 8's to play around wit here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
