inm
When designing a box, how do I figure port? Like, if a sub needs 1 cu ft of airspace, do I make a box with 1 cu ft PLUS the port space, or should the port space be included in the final dimensions? Let's say the sub needs 1 cu ft, and I have a .25 cu ft port (just throwing out numbers for example purposes) Would I need a 1 cu ft box, or a 1.25 cu ft box? I hope you guys can figure out what I'm asking. If not, just let me know, I'll try to ask it a different way. CaptainzPlanetz
What he said^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I would just use Torres Calculator, it does all the extra calculations for you, and it shows you if you are within the correct port area. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ All BS aside, If I see one more comment in here that is NOT about the pre-sale, I will start the vacations. And that includes the trolls feeding the trolls. inm
I used the calculator, but the port seems really really small... Here's the info from the calculator: ~~~~BOX DESIGN~~~~ -------BOX------ Box Height: 15'' Box Width: 34'' Box Depth: 20'' -------PORT------ Port Height: 2.5'' Port Width: 10'' Port Length: 6'' Physical Port Length: 5.25'' Number of Baffles: 1 Baffle Thickness: .75'' Baffle Displacement: 0.26 ft³ Sub Displacement: .36 ft³ Bracing Displacement: ft³ Gross Volume: 4.70 ft³ Port Volume: 0.16 ft³ Port Area Per Cubic Foot: 6.38 in² Port Area: 25.00 in² Net Volume: 3.92 ft³ Tuning Frequency: 38.87 Hz ~~~~CUT SHEET~~~~ ------BOX------ Top: 34'' x 20'' Bottom: 34'' x 20'' Sides (x2): 13.5'' x 18.5'' Front/Back: 34'' x 13.5'' ------PORT------ Port Top/Bottom: 11.5'' x 5.25'' Port Side(s): 2.5'' x 5.25'' And here's the Sketchup I made, which is what makes me thing the port is too small. (Note, I added a .75" baffle to Sketchup. True outer box height is 15.75") Also, left off the back piece so I could see in. Anyway, does that port seem right? imfrom210texas
have you used any other calculators? If Morgan Freeman narrated a story on how great AIDS is, I would be captivated and tempted to contract it myself. His voice just fills my soul with warm fuzzies and puppy tears. He has NO idea and may have a touch of autism to be honest. Is this guy real or is he joking? i actually mistook him for a lesbian in that demo video Wanted to mess around with a box for the garage. Was thinking 4 6x9 in 4 cube at like 30 hz... These are the things that make me lol
