ftw2kill Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) Just installed a MB Quart DSC1000.1 to my mate's system last night to run two Rockford Fosgate P3D415's. Seems to run okay, still need to get it tuned right but there seems to be a problem and I don't think it's in the tuning.. When a bassline starts say in Young Jeezy - Put on, it plays it quiet and then the subs will kick in at full volume but it takes .5-1 second for that to happen. What do you think could be causing it guys? Thanks! Edited May 28, 2010 by ftw2kill Quote
hdorre Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 It could be either amp or box tuning. Is the box a good size, what about the port? ftw2kill Posted May 28, 2010 Author Report Posted May 28, 2010 It could be either amp or box tuning. Is the box a good size, what about the port? I actually have no idea, they were a pre-fab box bought in JB, just for the time being as he doesn't have the time to build custom yet. From what I've heard it's ported around 48hz and is what i'd be thinking about 2 cubic foot, which isnt big enough but it's all we've got at the time being. Though until this amp came along, running the single one off a single Alpine monoblock there was no problem. Quote
hdorre Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) If the box is tuned to 48 hz and too small, that's the problem. I understand that's all you've got at the time so there's really nothing you can do but wait for the time to come. When he does go custom, I would tune it between 31 and 33hz for rap/hip hop Edited May 28, 2010 by hdorre Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

I've already told him to tune around 32hz. The only thing that doesn't make sense if the box was too small, why wasn't it having this problem on the Alpine amp? And I don't think the fact we could only run one would be the issue. Quote
bassl0va Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 It's either the pre-fab box. Or it's a combination that the first note in put on is quite low for a second and might not go well with that box. Wouldn't that have been apparent running just the one sub on the Alpine? Quote
Boogie Knights Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 I have the same problem. I have 2 kicker cvr's in a small sealed pre-fab box and I get a delay when the bass hits or no bass at all. Quote
tomypg Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Everytime I first start up my system, I have to shock my bass into working, so it wont play the bass then I have to crank it and then it will start playing, turning of the deck and turning it on again (i.e turn of amp then on quickly, but not too fast like within 5 secs)Seems to make it just work right away. Not sure why, never questioned it. Try it before you play a song. Or start your radio in acc (i.e car not on) Let it play for like 2-3 secs then start the car and you should be sweet.
