i'd say sell the epic 160, get a audiocontrol 3.1 and get metered with some professionals. i thought about an epic-160 to see what i was hitting but heck nall, it's too much money for just that purpose.

I have an epic-160 (I needed a bass processor, audiocontrol is generally good stuff), and I would not buy one again if I had a "do over". It is wildly innacurate. I have set up with a Term-lab metering as well to see how accurate. The epic will read different things every time. I even found a way to cheat the epic. Heat, causes mine to read higher. I had mine reading 159db while I was really only punching out a 150.1 on the TL. At first, the epic read 153, then I let the heater run. I did it again, still the same on the TL, but 155 on the epic. I moved all the way to 159. I only quit there because I didn't want to overstep its limits. I only still have mine because I haven't replaced it with something else yet. I have the "restoration" defeated. That "restoration" is the biggest pile of crap ever.

and you are correct, the epic 160 is boo boo as far as the meter thingy goes. i'd chose the 3.1 or 4.1 at that. i love my 3.1, crossover, eq and line driver all in one with master control and it's not complicated to play with either, MAAANNN!!
