Eric B Posted July 13, 2007 Report Share Posted July 13, 2007 Alright this summer my car sit out in the heat and whenever I turn up the speakers they seem to make a pop noise whenever the bass hits...the bass setting is at +2 on my deck I jus dont know what it is....sounds like when you flick plastic and it echo kinda if that helps ya out any. meade916 Posted July 13, 2007 Report Share Posted July 13, 2007 16w from a stock deck and you cramming on it to get output seems to me like it would put out more distortion then if the speaker had the proper amount of clean power.....id rather have 100 clean watts then 20 clipped on my mids/highs any day. Underpowering doesnt hurt speakers but clipping does. anyway it sounds like you have a bad speaker.....id get a new one and get an amp on them. True there are other speakers out there that can handle 200w RMS...but these speakers are truely power hungry. Get a refurb 4 channel off of highdesertaudio! Trust me Im setting aside my Sundown amp for my TC-3000 jus so I get a good 4 channel because these suckers need it...thanx for the help...Im thinkin a p450.4?
