jakehopt Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Hey all, pretty new to the forum, I've been reading up here quite a bit but I've just joined. Got a quick question about RMS power. I have 2 12's in my trunk, 250 RMS a peice, and my amp is putting out 450 RMS, it's a Jensen 900 monoblock. (Before you comment on how shitty/cheap this system is, bear with me, I'm operating on such a low budget the hobo down my street would seem like Bill Gates) Anyway, what I'm wanting to know is: Are the 450 watts RMS from the amp being split evenly between the subs? And am I at risk of over-powering? Thanks guys, it's great to be here, hopefully I can get some money saved up soon and start on a bigger and better setup.

They're 2 JBL GT4's, so 4 Ohm (4 Ohm's a piece) The Jensen has 2 positives and 2 negatives so each sub is wired to their own pos/neg

jakehopt Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 Alright guys, one more question I'm looking at expanding the system in the future. Now what I"m looking at is 3 amps, now does that mean I need a head unit with 4 outputs? 1 for the mids/highs, and 3 for the amps? Or how does that work? I know you can't split it 3 ways, so I'm kind of stuck.
