Guest beatitouttheframe Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 im lost here help me out i have been around beats for years now and guys are talking about ohms what gunna beat louder 8ohms or 4 i mean does more ohms mean more bass? Quote
Guest beatitouttheframe Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 what if i haave 2 8ohms subs and my amp will not do 8ohms stable? and would 8ohms be louder than 4? Quote
Guest SyKo13 Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Not necesarily(sp) more power, but a lower resistance which means you're pulling out more power from the amp. (Correct me if I'm wrong SK Quote
Guest beatitouttheframe Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 so if i had 2 8ohm woofers and my amp only did 4 max would i be underpowering them? Quote
ChevyBoy Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 what if i haave 2 8ohms subs and my amp will not do 8ohms stable? and would 8ohms be louder than 4? wire them in parallel. connect both positives and both negatives and that would make 4 ohms. ur amp definitely can handle that. Quote
Guest beatitouttheframe Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 ok cool but what if i crossed them over what would happen if i tried to run 8 would it kill the amp? and also whats gunna beat louder and deeper a 4ohms woofer or 8? Quote
ChevyBoy Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 4 ohms cause its gonna get more power from ur amp. i kno some amps cant go down to 8 ohms. so u might wanna check on that. and what do u mean by "if i crossed them"???? ur box is gonna matter on what hits harder and deeper too. most 8 ohm woofers arent even available ne more now too. Guest beatitouttheframe Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 so the 8ohm dossent make them anybetter than a 4ohm woofr and my amp has a built in crossover system what if i cross them...and i have a single port box...its fairly big and what would happen if i made the box bigger but only used the to woofer setup? i need help with this yall asap Quote
